@kirakira@furry.engineer Back during COVID, my workplace's VPN buckled under the increased load for a bit and they set the timeout for exactly eight hours. So if you had any kind of break or lunch or whatever, it was guaranteed it'd kick you off shortly before your end of day. It was super annoying.

@kirakira@furry.engineer best combined with a page that takes a while to load. like at work it happens at least once a day that I'll log in, go check slack while it loads, and come back just in time to catch the "you have been logged out" page

@kirakira@furry.engineer when work sets a 1 hour timeout on the 1 system I need to be logged into all day to do my fscking job but it's for "security" :/
