On Monday evening, we watched movie number 24 on the New York Times top 100 list, Joaquin Phoenix in Her. I wish I liked it more. I couldn’t stop thinking about the technology. And the weird reactions to falling in love with an OS. I’m sure director Spike Jonze had some deep ideas he wanted to get across about what it means to be a person, to be in love, and to be part of the human race, but they just passed me by. It was some great cinematography anyway. 3.5 stars out of five. #movies

I keep thinking about that cartoon that says my desire to be well-informed is currently at odds with my desire to remain sane. It is all just so damned overwhelming. We keep having to listen to the Orange Turd, even though he hasn’t made sense in 20 years, maybe ever. The news organizations have to pretend, I guess, that he isn’t spouting nonsense. I have seen plenty of montages of him promising things in two weeks. Oh, the celebrations when he’s finally out of our lives for good.
