@Mrfunkedude I tried to resist. I didn't want to be rude, or whatever poetry's version of a grammar nazi is (meter maid?) but I can't help it. Lines two and three just don't scan. I can't figure out a way to make them work as written. Could I offer two alternate lines? I am the very model of a modern Mastodonian I boost the cats and dogs and fav'rite memes and boost them all again (For) defederated instances I quote the fights historical From Metas Thread to brands.town in order categorical The best way I could think to keep "Defederated instances" was to sneak a "For" before the line, counting "For de" as one syllable. It works, somewhat. The only other way I could think to fix it was to make "Defederated instances?" a question, but that doesn't fit with the structure of the original. It's fine to mess with the classics a bit (just ask Kristy McNichol) but the closer you can keep to source, the better. Again, apologies for butting in, but the ghosts of Gilbert, Sullivan, and campy 80s parodies made me.
