Reimagining the mouse pointer for the AI era I know I should not have opened this, because it will cause permanent brain damage. Luckily for me, all my sanity left many moons ago, there's nothing left in there to hurt anymore! So I had a quick peek. And there, I see a demo, showing a recipe window partially covering a shopping list. Then, they strike out two items in the recipe, and hold the cursor over the shopping list to add the new items. Amazing. Now, tell me, what's wrong with selecting those two texts, copying it, and pasting? Exactly the same thing, the same motion, but there's no expensive "AI" involved. I'll repeat: same device, same motion, same outcome. One is predictable, is well known, works fairly reliably, even if you're offline, shows exactly what you are highlighting, and will paste it as-is, without requiring going through - in the best case! - gigabytes of a local model running on an expensive GPU.
