I was thinking about fictional artificial intelligence, and how it's been portrayed. From the computer systems in Star Trek, to Iron Man's Jarvis, to droids from Star Wars, to Skynet, to the Geth from the Mass Effect game series, to... Well, you get my point. Benevolent or malevolent, the common thread is accuracy. When the machine has an answer, it's accurate. I seem to remember a story line in Star Trek TNG where Data was in serious crisis because he believed he had made an error and it shook him to his core. None of the authors of all this fiction thought for a moment that we'd design a machine to lie to us and make mistake for us. #FuckAI
