If there was no curl, we'd have to turn wget into a library, or just (system "wget URL") in all our code, with all the problems that has. The demoscene did the same job as writing games did here, getting kids to learn how the machine works by doing something fun. I dunno anything similar now, which is why I promote retrocomputing so much. But very few of them learn ASM. We made & preserved too many games/demos!
