@nicuveo@tech.lgbt you are right! And it can be really frustrating when you’re used to the “long-term repository” aspect. I think it can be salvaged with some tweaks though (more organization; hashtags; themed accounts); also the Mastodon team is working to improve several of these aspects (namely lists and full-text search). Looking forward to that. Maybe it’s also teaching us the lesson that we should save the valuable/useful stuff on a different platform that we have control of…

    @elduvelle@neuromatch.social @nicuveo@tech.lgbt saving stuff makes sense, but in the end it’ll be done with software, right, and for many hosted non-locally? So why not use the FOSS software that is our social media? I say this because I suspect it might be healthy for the professional quarters of masto (eg academia et al) to openly acknowledge if/how masto isn’t the platform they need. Because there are others and can be new ones too. Lemmy/kbin for instance are completely searchable.
