Once again disabled people are being hounded for money; local councils whose rising home care charges have driven clients into debt are seeking to recover monies that people do not have. Behind it all lies funding cuts to local government &amp; the logic of (continued) austerity. @ChrisMayLA6@zirk.us Slight tangent: My mother is in LA funded residential care; her home stands empty (don't get me started) and is security for a deferred payment agreement. The care provider is a charity which mostly looks after people with dementia. The LA funding doesn't cover the charity's cost of care. Privately funded residents are paying extra because of this. The difference is going to eventually bankrupt the charity. What then?

@ChrisMayLA6@zirk.us they shouldn't be having to pay at all. Heath care should be free at the point if delivery.
