@yosh@toot.yosh.is This is why modern supply chain is shit, everything is set up to be delivered just-in-time and it works fine except when there’s a new pandemic or a boat stuck somewhere or a war or… yeah generally I think modern society is obsessed with short-term efficiency instead of long-term reliability.

    @yosh@toot.yosh.is Also, most living things have a lot of redundancy, it’s great for survival. When we try to make people „efficient“, we create mental illness and burnout because they don’t have the margin to recover and/or adjust.

  • @melunaka@eldritch.cafe @yosh@toot.yosh.is anywhere you can save a few pennies to get quarterly profits up. They'll crash in Q4 as the system starts breaking down but the decision maker is off to the next company to make them more successful and their bank account more fat by then.
