In this short interview, Kiyoshi Kurosawa talks about how the Japanese cinema industry is separated in two: 1 side for just commercial movies, one for only author movies. I'm not so knowledgeable about the industry there, but I've definitely noticed that before. When I ask random Japanese people, most of them have never heard of many of the directors that are well known in France.
