It’s a huge breath of fresh air when I see folks who will just say, “This is a fantastic product that isn’t for me”. That recognition that something can be both good and also made for someone else is a kind of maturity level I wish we saw from more people who use and talk about open source software

@danirabbit@mastodon.online At some point, things are just obvious weaknesses. It's not about choice and different use cases, but it's just a weak design. For various reasons. Maybe because it's 50 years old and still there for compatibility. See Unix shells. Or brand new like Wayland, but missing core features. It should be possible to comment these weaknesses, no? Whom would it help not to talk about it? It doesn't get better by praising.
