I'm neither religious nor an atheist but a secret third thing to which the existence or nonexistence of a all-powerful deity is irrelevant.
I believe that it is more useful to learn from studying the world we live in than it is from studying the entity who made it.
On our mortal scale we do have a context in which an ordinary person could be considered a god: Video games. To learn to play one well we always examine it's internal mechanics and interactions, not who made made it.
