As Red Letter Media notes thanks to audience fragmentation it's very difficult to promote movies today. If you go TikTok and other zoomer hangouts only no one over 35 hears about it. If you do broadcast and cable no one under 35 hears about it. Many people are checked out of ads entirely, watching only premium services, or they have an adblocker so miss anything on the web.
RLM's Mike says the first he sees of most movies is on his local theater's website when he's looking for something to watch... and he usually doesn't go because he's never heard of any of them!

I rarely see ads for movies anymore. Once in awhile ill see something on you tube etc. The coronahoax cured me of going to movies anyway. I used to really enjoy going to see a movie

@judgedread@poa.st The only movies I watch are related to animu I'm already following, and I sometimes miss out on even those. I was totally out of the loop that the new Gundam is in theaters this week.
