@fromjason@mastodon.social the Presidential Emergency Operations Center, aka bunker, was built for FDR during World War II and was located under the East Wing of the White House. It was demolished along with the East Wing to be replaced, since despite upgrades over the years its infrastructure still dated to the 1940s.
