There's no valid explanation, it's just someone thinking everyone will have to go vegan simultaneously so the only option will be to mass genocide farm animals, as if that wasn't already the plan.

Most animals raised for meat have been undergone breeding by humans to increase desirable traits at the expense of survivability in nature. Those animals are unlikely to survive in nature. Even if they could, it would wreck local ecosystems if all meat livestock was freed to nature.
