@auxonic@ottawa.place @stephanie@ottawa.place Yeah, which had me wondering if we got it cause we were in Ontario. It’s the dumbest thing, though. A proper alignment across the country on the important holidays should be a given. Family Day. T&R. Remembrance Day. Spend time with your family (whatever that looks like), recognize the importance of T&R, recognize the sacrifices our veterans and active duty service people have made to keep us safe and free. It’s not rocket science, governments!!!

@kris@gamepad.club @auxonic@ottawa.place @stephanie@ottawa.place If I remember correctly, at the time Ontario introduced Family Day, the federal government said that since they give public servants Remembrance Day off (which isn't required as a stat in Ontario), that counted as a replacement. But yeah, I'm surprised that it hasn't been included in any public service contracts since! I guess maybe they're trying to keep the ON & QC holidays balanced? Like how St Jean vs the August Civic holiday pair off & its the same number of days even if the exact holidays are different depending on which side of the river you work. So, time to petition Quebec to recognize Louis Riel Day (which is what they call the February holiday in Manitoba). 😈
