@kris@gamepad.club @auxonic@ottawa.place @stephanie@ottawa.place If I remember correctly, at the time Ontario introduced Family Day, the federal government said that since they give public servants Remembrance Day off (which isn't required as a stat in Ontario), that counted as a replacement.
But yeah, I'm surprised that it hasn't been included in any public service contracts since!
I guess maybe they're trying to keep the ON & QC holidays balanced? Like how St Jean vs the August Civic holiday pair off & its the same number of days even if the exact holidays are different depending on which side of the river you work.
So, time to petition Quebec to recognize Louis Riel Day (which is what they call the February holiday in Manitoba). 😈
