We were debating asking him to stop slamming the weights, when he asked how heavy the bar I was using is (I used a trap bar, he used a straight bar). We told him same as his bar, 45lb, and asked him to stop slamming the weights: it's bad for the weights, it's bad for the floor, and it's really loud. I MAY have rubbed his nose in it when I said "I'm lifting similar weight, and I put it down gently, you can watch me". 2/?

He then proceeded to pile on more weight quickly, but he was only doing 3 reps a set (I was doing 8). I hit a PR and continued happily with my day, and he proceeded to repeatedly injur himself. What is wrong with the male ego that they insist upon looking foolish to feel good about themselves? Sidenote: My PR today was a 170lb deadlift, 6 reps, but only because my trainer said I wasn't allowed to do 8, I could've done 8. 💪 or more properly 🦵 3/end
