@peterbrown@mastodon.scot Raw demographics are against them up here. I believe in England you still have to be 18 and a citizen to vote even in council elections, so Reform are getting a disproportionate share of votes from a skewed franchise. In Scotland it's closer to the ideal of "no taxation without representation" and the younger residents with a larger stake in the future and more comfort with change for the better have a voice. Also we knew Brexit was shit from the very beginning.

@peterbrown@mastodon.scot @petealexharris@mastodon.scot despite the BBC telling us before the count that Scotland was no different to the rest of the UK and would also see big support for reform Good to see we're heading in the opposite direction. I suspect a lot of left-leaning folk from down south are starting to drift over the border as the differences become apparent
