So… modelling the extent to which credit for power export should well exceed grid power imported in May-September and taking account of my strategy for running the heat pump full time with 12.96p per kWh stored grid power over the four coldest months, I calculate that I’m likely to go from a £1200pa combined energy bill in 2025 (actual electricity+gas costs) to somewhat less than £200pa fully electric heating, lighting and cooking in future 12 month periods. I’ll tweak this as time progresses.

  • Looking back to my system quote, Octopus did estimate an annual saving of £816. I felt that might be conservative but I didn’t have the figures until now to start modelling a full year based on new actuals. Now I’m a lot more confident.
