So… modelling the extent to which credit for power export should well exceed grid power imported in May-September and taking account of my strategy for running the heat pump full time with 12.96p per kWh stored grid power over the four coldest months, I calculate that I’m likely to go from a £1200pa combined energy bill in 2025 (actual electricity+gas costs) to somewhat less than £200pa fully electric heating, lighting and cooking in future 12 month periods. I’ll tweak this as time progresses.

Looking back to my system quote, Octopus did estimate an annual saving of £816. I felt that might be conservative but I didn’t have the figures until now to start modelling a full year based on new actuals. Now I’m a lot more confident.
