You know I've noticed something. The anti AI folks generally are incredibly judgmental about those who choose to use the tools available to them in what ever way they see fit. I don't think I've ever seen a judgmental post from someone who has embraced the tools against those who simply refuse flat out. You do what you wanna do your way and let those who want to do it differently go about their business. The world is always changing ever since the year dot, deal with it.

@darrenhartland@caneandable.social Well yes. It's precisely the reductionist "I'm just using an available tool here" mentality that causes people to embrace destructive manifestations of technology.

@darrenhartland@caneandable.social Oh please. I was personally confronted at work by a supercilious young engineer who "wanted to make sure I know" about AI. I def do, but Ice seen the bugs and awful designs that drop out of it I have a relative constantly barraging me with "information" about how GREAT kids do when lied to by disinformation machines (never mind the fact that by definition predictive text will guide everyone towards a median and punish outliers, both smart and stupid) Not to mention this toot itself. I don't hate AI because I don't understand it. I hate it because I *do*. It's being misunderstood and misused everywhere. We are lighting everything on fire and calling it progress.
