If I write a post on my #gotosocial instance with a link in the text, when posted I see the link.
If I do the same on my #mastodon.social account, the post contains the link plus a description of the link and sometimes an image.
I'm guessing that mastodon retrieves ogg information, but gotosocial doesn't.
Is there a configuration parameter I'm missing?

@venelles@mastodon.social GtS doesn't currently fetching link data. It's not on the current roadmap, but that can be a little flexible from what I see.

@venelles@mastodon.social #gotosocial doesn’t fetch the OG stuff. But: If you post your link on your gts, people seeing the post on Mastodon will see the OG image and description, because the Mastodon web client fetches it. And if you use your gts with the Ivory app on ios/mac, your own gts timeline will have the OG stuff for any link that offers it.
