This is your irregular reminder that the laws that introduced vastly more surveillance in the US and curtailed US people's freedoms were a reaction to 9/11, meant to be temporary anti-terrorism measures in a supposed time of crisis. These temporary measures have not only been in place for over twenty years, they've been made worse. I'm sure they'll remove those assaults on personal freedom any day now. Aaaaaaany day. If you're under, say, 30, you may not even know what I'm talking about. That's wild. Remember. When politicians curtail your freedom "temporarily", they never give a sliver of that back. You have to make them. And I don't mean just voting every few years. That's not enough.
