Can you all please just stop the so called #VibeCoding. Or at least warn be that you did, before I try to contribute to your projects?! I mean if you use an LLM from time to time, to find some typos, let it feedback about what you wrote or the terms you used or maybe even let it draft some boring boilerplate stuff, I can live with that, but probably everything else is going to drive a real human software engineer mad at some point.

@linos@graz.social The genie is out of the bottle man and it's not going back. "Vibe coding" and AI in general isn't going to stop anytime soon. That being said, we're in a transitional period where we're learning how and when to use it. We all remember when the internet went from an expanse of infinite sites to the virus and pop up filled nightmare in the early 2000's. At the same time AI is still in it's infancy and will continue getting better. There's adoption or adaption, but it's not going away.

@linos@graz.social Ich verwende gerade #lechat von Mistral bei der Arbeit an der Website der #offgallery - nicht als Agenten-Software, sondern im Dialog. Sehr hilfreich ist es, um Kommadozeilenbefehle zu formulieren und um monotone Aufgaben zu automatisieren. Es hilft mir auch, um Probleme z.B. beim Updaten eines Konfigurationsfiles zu lösen - mit dem Problem, dass ich nur zum Teil verstehe, was ich tue (das geht mir ähnlich, wenn ich Codeschnipsel ausprobiere, die ich via Suchmaschine gefunden habe). Bei wirklich haarigen Problemen (bei mir durch die Ersetzung von #liquid durch #nunjocks als Haupt-Template-Engine) ist es katastrophal schlecht - akzeptiert aber gern Lösungen, die ich woanders gefunden habe :) Ich finde es brauchbar als einen weiteren Schritt des Codens hin zur natürlichen Sprache. Aber es hat keinerlei kognitive Fähigkeiten, auch wenn es deren Resultate manchmal gut imitiert.
