I would like to know how much new tech benefits regular people, and how much of that is only related to entertainment products. We need tech to improve essentials: nutrition, housing, clean water, climate control, medicine, education, democracy. But these are not seen as quick money-makers by tech entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. Tech people mostly build tech for other (rich) tech people. Tech solutions for the majority are still mostly snake oil. Or tools to help snake oil sellers.
