my GF told me about her reqction to a transphobic situation and I think her reaction is inspiring:
Very occasionally I do or say something in real life that I view as kind of cool, and here is one such example that just happened:
I was on the train, bound for work. I stood next to one of the exit doors, approaching my stop. 3 girls, speaking English, likely International Students, somewhere between ages 17 - 19, were talking about catching their boyfriends or random men watching porn / blaring the audio out loud. I thought this was innocent, rather common chitchat about deranged men shit / awkward moments.
These girls were not speaking loudly, I was just like two feet away from them, as so happens on trains.
Anyway, one girl says something almost inaudible but is clearly about her boyfriend watching trans porn. She laughs then says rather loudly, "Trans people are weird "
We arrive at my stop. A halt. I side-tap the girl's coat with my finger, gentle, so as not to invade her space.
"Hey," I say.
I press the button. The door opens.
"Fuck you."
She reddened and turns her face away. I exit. Doors close. Train speeds away.
