Paulo C. Chagas: “Beyond Execution: Unrealizability and the Ontology of Sound in Computer Music” Problematises AI as opaque, out of control and is an object to be consumed. It does not have the the same scope of potential as non AI music. Part of the music we "use" rather than consume is open. The things that *could* happen, that we *don't* hear are as important as what we do hear. A lack of potentiality is a totalitarian control.

@celesteh@hachyderm.io "AI" has never been a descriptive word, it's only ever been a catch-all term used by sci-fi authors (a bit like saying "FTL drive" or "sensors") and, starting in the 70s or 80s, marketers. It's sole purpose is to obscure what is being referenced, useful in fiction so you don't actually have to come up with such details, also useful in marketing so you don't have to tell people what's in a "meat" sausage.
