Today some people discussed the new data centers to be build near Schaffhausen, IIRC. To get an idea about size: it will consume as much energy as 1/3 of the whole canton needs today. if one would fill a nearby gravel pit with water and direct waste heat there, the water would be at 90 degrees Celsius. So yeah, let’s absolutely do it!

@CerstinMahlow@mastodon.acm.org This is the building site. The data center was supposed to be ready in 2027, but now it seems it's not finished until 2028. The government had to give the building permit, as there was no law that required to use at least some of the exhaust heat.
