Even two years ago the "get a job" advice would be practicing problems from Cracking the Coding Interview and work on quality portfolio projects
Today it's all about AI adoption and velocity at the expense of everything else. I really don't see a way to differentiate yourself other than spending a small fortune to vibe code 6 apps at once just to prove that you can use the tools
And then you'll still be stuck in scrum meetings all day anyway

That's the thing that disgusts me most about AI coding "democratizing coding" It's the most American version of democracy ever: you only get to participate if you have a pile of cash to burn, and fuck everyone who doesn't
