@benbrown@masto.hackers.town I love the shoutout to grackles. One time I was sitting outside drinking coffee and there were all these grackles poking around in the grass, and a sound like rice crispies. They were feasting on snails in the dewy grass. It has to be a celebrated holiday in grackle culture.

@benbrown@masto.hackers.town Austin's pretty neat, eh. My son and I were out for a walk recently and came across a baby opossum, just standing there in the middle of the sidewalk. Cute thing, coulda scooped him up in one hand. Stared at us for a bit before walking off into the bushes. Do you get any monk parakeets? Always fun to spot them after hearing their distinctive squawk. Usually fly around in pairs, and build massive stick nests on cell towers and power poles.
