@ludicity@mastodon.sprawl.club I think this is common but we do technically use case with engineers and I'm sure they have used it to answer the question. Skillset and answers in person didn't match. I'm not sure what to think about it because engineers are expected to use AI to speed up their development, so do these people do exactly what is expected of them, or are they faking the assessment?

If they can’t talk about their skills without relying on an LLM, how do you expect them to be able to spot & correct the errors introduced by the LLMs? When I was hiring, we gave small, complex problems for candidates to work on on their own time. The interview was talking to them about the decisions they made in their coding solutions. Solving the problem is less important than being able to socialize their solutions 😔 god I’m glad I’m not in tech anymore
