RE: https://mastodon.social/@kagihq/116013637460783600 This is insanely high-quality. I wanted to play around with its #Spanish translation capabilities and noticed it had Spanish from #costarica specifically. So I gave it as much #tico slang as could make sense and it got it incredibly well. Obviously, #translation is an art, and I might’ve used slightly different wording, but an anglophone would absolutely get the sentiment from this translation. It looks like I can’t post a picture on a quote-post, so I’ll reply here with the passage I used!

@moshimotsu@floss.social That's incredible to hear, thank you so much! Appreciate you checking it out and hope you can keep helping us spread the good word, too many people have no idea this even exists 🙏 The browser extension has in-line integrations with Mastodon too, by the way, and a ton of other platforms: https://translate.kagi.com/extension

An incredible Costa Rican Spanish-to-American English translation, courtesy of @kagihq’s translation app. Bonkers. For those who don't speak Spanish, the terms "mae," "brete," "cabra," "al chile," maybe "fijo," "pedir cacao," "güila," "legal," and "manda huevo" are all deeply Costa Rican terms. I don't have any issues with any of the translations they used. Pa que los gringos ya no nos estorban, @donelias 😂
