I always assume folk who willingly voted Reform and aren't completely daft are deliberately wanting to destabilise local government (in the hope of a later General Election win), and/or to reduce enforcement of regulations that get in the way of their businesses (similar to how UKIP MEPs tried as much as possible to disrupt the working of the EU)

What I find difficult to understand is how many people around here I get along with, seem nice people, but who vote Reform and support Trump. Maybe it is a combination of self interest, narrow mindedness and ignorance due to being so busy that the only information they get is from the BBC and Facebook, reinforcing a specifically manipulated confirmation bias.
