For instance, my summer project is implementing early-binding CMYK support (right now you can import/export/softproof, but the actual editing is still RGB). That will open up GIMP to a larger audience who hears "GIMP can do CMYK now!" - and then we'll start getting feedback about all the stuff they were expecting but isn't implemented yet. "Implement then refine". :)
