7/ day two: I left Buckhorn camp Thursday morning excited about my favorite area of this section Burkhart trail and Cooper canyon, only to discover they'd both been completely destroyed by the Bridge fire and subsequent heavy rain events. Pretty speechless. These two creek canyons were a shady oasis full of enormous old trees. A real gem when it gets hot. Took a long time to pick through, very slow morning, not much trail left for miles.

8/ day two: and some of the remains of Cooper canyon after Burkhart trail. Had to alternate between walking up the creek bank and through the creek for most of the way to dodge downed trees and washed out trail. It will be interesting to see how this section is reworked.
