@liamvhogan@aus.social @Taco_lad@aus.social David: Of course you’re always going to enjoy a Liam thread, but if I’m being honest, I thought the second post had the third post energy and the third post would’ve usually been a second or fourth post. I guess you could argue he was doing an homage to the non-linear storytelling of early Tarantino or Christopher Nolan but I don’t think that was his intention. Two and a half stars. Margaret: I understand where you’re coming from but I really hate Cory Doctorow’s threads and Ed Zitron’s overwrought blôge posts and this thread, as well as the replies it generated, were really satisfying to read on a Thursday evening with a glass of red. Three and a half stars for me.

@liamvhogan@aus.social For example, TVs and monitors are a lot better now. Aside from CRTs for classic games, there is no used TV market any more because the cheap new ones are better looking. In the CRT days my dad fixed TVs and made a nice side business selling used ones. OTOH in better days online, I could develop a small open source project, make ONE post on Usenet, another on a mailing list, and have an active user base in a few days. Where does one promote an open source project nowadays?
