I upgraded my #BBCMicro from BASIC 1 to BASIC 2 by replacing a ROM. Cost me £9 off fleaBay. Came with horribly bent pins but I managed to straighten them out. It enabled me to use the system command OSCLI which allowed me to create a friendly front-end to the speech chip I installed last week.

@electron_greg@oldbytes.space Wonder how many BASIC 1 Beebs are left. Wasn't there an updated OS 1.2 ROM too?

@electron_greg@oldbytes.space Ohhh that voice brings back memories. I used to tweak the spelling and punctuation so it would pronounce things right.
