Random Monkey Island memory: The first time I played The Secret of Monkey Island, and was told to go to the Scumm Bar, I completely missed the sign and walked right past it. (It probably didn't help that my monitor was a bit dark.)
I guess I could have saved myself the embarrassment if I have bought the Sega CD version instead. But then I would have suffered the even worse embarrassment of playing the worst version of the game!

@et_andersson@idlethumbs.social I remember that it too me a loooong time before I realized you could walk down the back of Lookout Point to the rest of Mêlée Island…
