I asked them, and there was no mention of mobile network shutdown in their answer.

@cvwarren@m.ai6yr.org @obucate@bildung.social @pluralistic@mamot.fr But as a user of _this_ car, I do not need or expect future enhancements. I simply need the currently working ones to keep working. I'f it's because the 3g network is going down, I get that. But I'm not convinced that is the case.
