I would LOVE to get my "normie" friends to subscribe to my Mastodon or GoToSocial RSS feed so they can see what I'm up to... even though they are not on the Fediverse.
Plus: it's all about reading interesting content away from addictive algos. RSS is simply the best.

@elena@aseachange.com Thanks for this. I might create a terse introduction for my website and use Molly White's blog post as a resource. I basically think I need an explainer for "you need another app where you plug my (or other's) URL into it and you can stay up to date. It would be cool if there was something like growyourown.services fediverse.party or joinmastodon.org or something where it is this friendly introduction to RSS on the front page then more detail in other links.
