Scenes from today’s Mother’s Day hike (4.25 mi/ 6.8km) around Lake Accotink. The leaves and flowers were beautiful; I regularly smelled roses and honeysuckle. This was a new trail for me and it felt busy, with another human almost always in sight. I was surprised a few times by cyclists who did not announce themselves. My new hydration pack worked great and my pace was ok. Proud of myself for getting out there.
