After procrastinating a decision about which Kanban tool to use, I finally weighed all the available choices and landed on @vikunja@social.linux.pizza I think this was the first time that a software having their presence on Mastodon made part of my reasons to choose something. Another one is the integration with Home Assistant. So far, so good. Haven't used it for more than a few minutes to create some fake tasks, but it's been nice. Now I need to figure out how to migrate from my old Kanboard. #HomeLab #SelfHosted #Jira #Kanban #Vikunja @homelab@fedigroups.social

@badnetmask@hachyderm.io @vikunja@social.linux.pizza @homelab@fedigroups.social For data migrations, I usually first try with n8n. It does not have a Kanboard node, but it does have a Vikunja one. So, at least you have the creation part. Getting the tasks from Kanboard should be possible exporting to CSV, and then reading it from n8n. I know it sounds a bit overkill, but you don't need to learn Vikunja API, and you can run a docker image and remove it when done

@badnetmask@hachyderm.io @vikunja@social.linux.pizza @homelab@fedigroups.social I thought I was aware of most options in the todo/Kanban space, but Vikunja totally passed me by. Thanks for mentioning it. It looks incredible, love that you're free to self-host the whole product. Will definitely take a close look at it
