@neauoire@merveilles.town Most modern filesystems support arbitrary metadata. MacOS uses it for labels and internal flags like “this file was downloaded from the Internet”. But Be was the only one that really ran with it as a user-facing tool.

    @bytex64@awesome.garden @neauoire@merveilles.town AFAIK Be's file system used a B-tree for metadata, which made tag based queries much more efficient. You could have a live view of unread emails in your file manager.
