UN or UNSC? UNSC != UN
Redesigning the UNSC [1] to *also* prevent #CrimesAgainstHumanity (CAH; and genocides in non-war contexts) would be a lot better. The Iranian govt crimes against humanity against the #JinaMahsaAmini protestors in 2022 [2][3] and against Iranians in Jan 2026 [4] were *not* during a war.
Other parts of the UN *do* generally tend to oppose CAH+war.

@boud@framapiaf.org Thanks for the links. TBH I didn't research much on the topic or anything, and I was thinking of the UNO but probably my comment applies better to the UNSC. And, while other parts of the UN *do* voice concern, it's just not terribly effective, is it? IMHO (and just from primary thinking, and being largely ignorant of the intricacies and nuances) the UNSC is long overdue some reform.
