House network reconfiguration day for me today due to equipment failures and some changing office/lab equipment needs. Turns out to work around this failed multigig SFP+, it was cheaper to get a 5-port 2.5gbit / 10g uplink managed switch than it was to replace it. 2.5/5/10 gbase-whatever SFP are abominations anyway, so it seemed like a good move, so that's what I did. And, I'm unsurprisingly having fewer problems with the 2.5g NIC plugged into it than I did before, even with the extra step of uplinking to the 10gbit core in the basement. This will at least free up the other switch in the office to be moved elsewhere in the house to do things it would be a better fit for, and going back to the EX2200C for the radio/lab bench in the office with a separate uplink to the core. Not generally a fan of extra network stuff just to have it around, but this is making sense to do.
