My pet theory is that Labour had one job that they absolutely had to succeed with after the May-Johnson-Truss-Sunak era.
They had to restore trust in politics.
They didn't even try, and I think it's probably too late now even if they wanted to.
Not looking forward to the next general election at all.

@jtonline@mastodon.me.uk sadly, you might be right. It is remarkable to see the difference in political engagement in Oz. Variously the governments are working for the populace. It is late, and we have a silly early flight. Summary later if I remember! But... back to the UK tomorrow. Merde.

@jtonline@mastodon.me.uk if they had pursued redoing EU then and benefits started arriving. All those Reform voters going on holiday to Europe may realise their mistake this Summer.
