@whetstone@romancelandia.club @Julie@social.coop It would be great if all the instances protected #Jews, but the fact is that on the Fediverse, Jews are subject to the same kind of hate and harassment that we often receive on traditional large social media. I complain to instances when #antisemitism comes up, and sometimes it's addressed, and other times, it isn't, because, sadly #JewsDontCount in the eyes of many (even well intentioned) instance operators. So I did start a new instance, for this marginalized community.

@serge@babka.social @whetstone@romancelandia.club @Julie@social.coop Jews cannot count on allies. Gentiles do not stand up against antisemitism. They pay it lip service only. The only way to have a space that protects Jews is to have an instance run by Jews.

@serge@babka.social @whetstone@romancelandia.club @Julie@social.coop There is a lot of antisemitism and anti-israel rhetoric, that because there are some far right parties in Israel, that all Israelis are the same, they aren't. In Canada, I had some past friends that I ended my friendships with because of antisemitism. But it's a problem, but hopefully one that can be fixed again.
