@sstephenson@indieweb.social JFC. I remember meeting Toby back in 2007 and thinking he was AOK. But then everyone at RubyFringe seemed AOK.
Now... 🤦♂️
I had no idea how naive I was back then. Pretty weird for being 33 at the time.

@elight@tenforward.social back in the early Rails Core days, a friend and I used to joke that Tobi was a Nazi, on account of his blond hair, blue eyes, and stereotypical German mannerisms. (I’m not proud of that; I was young and naive, and Naziism at that time and from my privileged perspective seemed like a funny relic of a distant past.) Anyway, now Tobi runs a multibillion-dollar platform where he profits directly from people who sell Nazi memorabilia. I think about that a lot
