@nucleosophia@mastodon.energy With the lessons learned, we can build a better one from scratch. Maybe a secondary loop with gas and a Brayton cycle? That would eliminate one loop, sodium/water interface, and the issues of contaminated gas. Heat exchangers similar to our LDR-50.

  • @rmattila74@energydon.fi Maybe secondary with molten salt and use as industrial heat source? Salt should be safer than sodium, also safer at interface with water. I'm not sure if cheaper (I guess depends on salt...). On the other hand using 3 different coolants would increase costs and complexity I'm not sure if I saw a sodium-cooled design (even on paper) that could run supercritical steam turbine 🤔 Probably more of a heat exchanger and turbine design issue...
