This is a very cool beetle, that makes its way in the world by mimicking a wasp – evolution is quite creative sometimes.
Unlike the people that named it in English – it's called the wasp beetle (Clytus arietis; 🇩🇪 Echter Widderbock) 🤷♂️
It's similar to C. lama, but differentiated by having black antenna tips.

I only saw this one briefly, hence the poor pictures 🤷♂️ But after going down some rabbit holes, a good guess is that it's a torpedo sawfly (Nematus lucidus; 🇩🇪 Torpedo-Blattwespe), not an ichneumonid wasp as iNaturalist initially suggested 😬 Not that frequently documented on that site, but not rare or endangered either. #Löwenstein 🏰 #Photography 📷️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ #BugOfTheDay 🐞 #MacroPhotography 🔬 #InsectsOfMastodon 🪰 #BackGardenEntomology 🪲
